The Palms Market Seeks New Committee Members to Carry the Torch
The Palms Market in Canowindra is calling for expressions of interest from community members to take over the committee as the current team steps down due to increased life commitments. Over the past three years, The Palms Market has created lifelong memories for the committee and the wider community, becoming a cherished local event.
The monthly meetups under The Palms have consistently delivered the perfect blend of atmosphere, showcasing an incredible array of local talent lighting up the evening stage with unforgettable performances. The market’s success is owed to the many individuals and groups who contributed to making it an iconic event.
A Heartfelt Thanks to the Community
First and foremost, a huge thank you goes to the community members who braved extreme heat and cold to support the market. Your dedication made The Palms Market the vibrant gathering it became.
To the stallholders: Your contributions went far beyond selling goods. Through your generosity in raffle donations and stall fees, you made it possible for us to fund bands and host additional events through The Palms Inc. You were, and will always be, the heart and soul of the market.
A special acknowledgement goes to the Statham family, who graciously opened their property and transformed it into the beloved landmark we now call The Palms.
Behind-the-Scenes Heroes
We cannot overlook the tireless efforts of Sam, Simone, Oli, and Sabrina, who worked countless hours to bring this market to life. From managing websites, licenses, and lighting to setting up PA systems, firewood, hay bales, and thousands of chairs, their dedication was unmatched.
To our neighbors: The Old Chocolate Shop AirBNB, Perennialle Plants, and Finns Store—thank you for your invaluable support with power, amenities, water, and shelter when needed. Your contributions were essential to the market’s success and never went unnoticed. We would also like to extend our thanks to The Phoenix Canowindra and Sugarloaf Studios for their marketing and promotional contributions.
Our gratitude extends to everyone who assisted with marketing, flyers, and logistics. Cat, thank you for stepping in as secretary and managing the challenges we threw your way. Alan Wood, your contributions to sound setup and your entertaining performances enriched many evenings at The Palms.
A Fond Farewell
As the author of this release, I want to personally express my gratitude for being part of The Palms Market journey. It has been a deeply rewarding experience, one that I will cherish forever. Together, we celebrated life in the country in its purest form: kids running free, adults enjoying the twilight hours, and everyone gathered on a grassy slope, embracing the spirit of community.
The Palms Market has been a remarkable chapter in Canowindra’s story, and now it’s time for new leaders to write the next one. If you’re passionate about community and ready to take on this rewarding challenge, we’d love to hear from you.
Let’s ensure The Palms Market continues to shine as a beacon of community spirit and creativity.
For expressions of interest, please contact Michelle on 0400 913 985.

Local Food – Local Craft – Local Talent
“The Palms”, Gaskill St, Canowindra CBD
The Palms Canowindra Inc is a community group whose aim is to create a resilient, locally-supplied market that has a core of regular produce stalls and a rotating group of casual dining, art and crafts stalls to create a balance between consistent food supplies, interesting new street food, arts and crafts, and a social hub for the community.
The market supports stallholders selling products that are locally made or grown. Food products must be produced within 100 miles. We will also consider non-local products that are hand made, ethically sourced, eco friendly, majority Australian made, recycled/upcycled/second-hand clothing, collectibles/antiques.
It has been incredible to watch our market grow from an extremely random chat under the Palms into an amazing treat for Canowindra running 6 months of the year to align with community events such as the Christmas Street Markets and The Balloon Festival. This is not done without all our wonderful stallholders and visitors, so on behalf of the Committee thanks to everyone for growing this market into a fantastic community event! For upcoming dates please see our calendar page.
If you are interested in being a stallholder, we now have an online booking system. We have a private Member area where stallholders can update their profiles, and this will become part of a public stallholder directory in the future.
