The Palms Canowindra Inc is a volunteer committee of farmers, artists, shopkeepers, parents and market enthusiasts from the beautiful, historic rural village of Canowindra, in the Central West of NSW. We started in 2021, in response to the need for a safe, caring and open environment for small producers, locals and visitors to get together in a market. We are registered as an incorporated association in New South Wales under the Associations Incorporation Act 2009.
The location for the market, 33 Gaskill St, is affectionately known by the committee as “The Palms”. It is a beautiful vacant block with grassy slopes down to the river flats, and flat area shaded by ancient palm trees near the main street. It is perfectly located between Canowindra’s famous shops, Finns Old Store and Perennialle Plants. We are grateful for the support both shops have given us so far.
Other events are also held on “The Palms”, including tour screenings of Australia’s leading short film festival, Flickerfest. Local winery, Rosnay Organic Wines, has been a sponsor of Flickerfest for over 10 years, and began screening Flickerfest at The Palms in 2021.
“The Palms” is owned and maintained by the Statham family, of Rosnay Organic Wines.
“The Palms”, is available for hire for functions such as weddings, dinners etc. The site is mainly grass and has some shade, but you will need to hire your own event structures such as portaloos, marquees etc. If you would like to hire the site, please contact the committee.
